TN1160 : Investigating the behavior of the influential parameters on copper leaching from low-grade ores in micro-nano bubble environments.

Abstarct: The aim of this research is to experimentally investigate the possibility of copper recovery from soil samples taken from the Saraku copper mine in Kerman using the tank leaching method in a micro-nano bubble environment. To achieve this objective, the research program is divided into three parts. Firstly, sample preparation and obtaining a homogeneous sample are performed. Then, chemical and mineralogical analysis of the reference sample is conducted using particle size analysis, XRF, XRD, atomic absorption, and ICP Mass analysis. The atomic absorption results indicate that the copper content (grade) is approximately 66.0%, which is in good agreement with the copper content analyzed by XRF and ICP. The screening analysis for the 0-500 micron sample shows that the d80 is nearly equal to a 50-mesh sieve (297 microns). In the second stage, the behavior of parameters is examined using a one-factor-at-a-time approach. The results show that the extracted copper increases with increasing acid concentration, and the recovery initially increases with leaching time but decreases after several recovery tests. Additionally, the percentage of solids and agitation rate have a decreasing effect on the recovery rate. However, the reduction in particle size in the range below 500 microns has little impact on copper recovery and even shows a decrease, which is attributed to the soil sample composition. The pulp agitation rate also has a minor influence on the copper extraction process.
